"Waiting For Superman"

"Waiting for Superman" was a jaw-dropping experience for me. I never thought our education system was so messed up. And this might not be the most surprising statement but I am glad I live in Georgia. I feel as if I may have not gotten the best education, but I have one and my parents did not have to go through the lottery in order to get me and my seven siblings into school. The film’s most emotional moments revolve around five children whose futures depend on winning a lottery to a charter school. I was very shocked at the things the students have to go through; the parents were much stressed and very disappointed. Another thing that shocked me and made my heart drop was that there are teachers who only teach for the money and they don't love their job. I just hate the fact that we have teachers in the system like this; I can't imagine having this job and not loving what I do. I have wanted this ever since I stepped foot in my kindergarten class room, and I want it now even more than before. After walking into Fort Valley Middle School for the first time and seeing my students and seeing how some of them are so intrigued with learning it touched my heart and I could never imagine choosing a different career.
